About our Company

We are a small but growing family-run business in Elgin, SC. Everything we sell is 100% American Made.

For over 15 years, FLEA STOPPERS has been manufacturing the safest and most pet-friendly flea control product in the industry. As a small family business, we stand proudly behind everything we sell. At FLEA STOPPERS, we not only guarantee our products and services, but also take the time to respond to our customers' questions, problems, and concerns. Jan Tracy, the owner, held a state-certified pest control license for many years prior to starting the company, and may be of help with problems that are not even flea related.

FLEA STOPPERS is federally licensed by the E.P.A. as well as being registered by the pesticide regulation departments in each state in which our product is sold. We unconditionally guarantee our product for refund or replacement. After tracking sales for over 8 years during which time we took warranty information via the phone where we asked each customer to register their purchase, FLEA STOPPERS has less than a ½ of 1% failure rate based on requests for refunds or replacements.

Jan Tracy (aka Flea Lady), has been an animal lover ever since she can remember. In college she was given the nickname 'Mother Earth' due her tendency to adopt all manner of unwanted animals, including sick puppies, wounded birds, squirrels, even snakes. She holds a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Upon graduating from college she was accepted into the D.V.M. programs at Ohio State and Auburn, but family priorities prevented her from attending. After school, Jan worked for a time at the Raptor Center in Charlotte, NC, where she was granted a federal wildlife permit, and has also done work with the Nature Conservancy as a foster parent for orphaned animals. In hindsight, it's probably a good thing that Jan didn't become a veterinarian, because she admits she would have had to shoot the first person who came in wanting to put their pet down because they were tired of them or too unruly to handle. In all likelyhood, she would have taken the pets home and had to support them!

In addition to being an animal lover, Jan has taught physics, earth science, chemistry and biology at the high school level, as well as a college lab course in organic chemistry. She has worked as a teacher, Christmas tree farmer, quality control and production supervisor in an olivine mine, production manager in a fabrication, non-ferrous foundry and welding operation, a sales manager for the world's largest European manufacturer of furniture fittings and hardware, a commercial roofing contractor, an independent manufacturers rep for architectural construction products and supplies as well as owning a carpet cleaning franchise prior to finding and using FLEA STOPPERS. Needless to say, owning FLEA STOPPERS has been her greatest and most gratifying vocation because she is helping pets as well as the people who own them!
